Davis & Cline Galleries

First Friday Art Walk – September 2nd, 5–8 pm

Davis & Cline Galleries

During the month of September the Davis and Cline Galleries will be showing the work of 8 artists in three separate shows in two galleries. The artists come from all over the west coast with two from Los Angeles, one each from San Francisco, Massachusetts, Portland, and three from Seattle.

In Gallery 525 the curated show by Josine Ianco Starrels "It Ain't Necessarily So" which opened on August 5th will close on September 17th. This show features the work of three Tromp L'oeil artists, Richard Shaw, Ron Rizk and Bill Braun. This fascinating type of realism includes traditionally oriented trompe l'oiel paintings on panels by Los Angeles painter Ron Rizk as well as three dimensional work by San Francisco ceramicist Richard Shaw and paintings on canvas by Bill Braun from Seattle.

On September 20th a new show in Gallery 525 will open featuring the work of Randall Tipton, Selma Moskowitz and Martin Rosol. Randall Tipton will be exhibiting landscapes from the Northwest, while Selma Moskowitz will be showing new abstract work from her series of highly polished acrylic paintings. Martin Rosol will exhibit large cut and bonded optical glass sculptures.

Gallery 552 will feature the work of two Washington State artists Norman Lundin and Philip Govedare. The paintings of Philip Govedare are primarily large landscapes of the Duwamish area south of Seattle and are distinguished by large dramatic skies and urban intrusions. Norman Lundin's work ranges from still life, to landscape and are noted for their muted Northwest colors.
