Ashland Art Works

First Friday Art Walk – June 3rd, 5–8 pm

Ashland Art Works

Imagine a lush garden setting - add twelve artists, five working studios plus four galleries and you have a dream come true. Ten years ago, patron Brad Roupp envisioned a place for artists to work paired with a venue to sell the works fashioned there. His dream has reached fruition and is still growing strong at 291 Oak Street just a few blocks from downtown.

Nestled among the verdant gardens on Ashland Creek you will find five working studios and four galleries. On any given day you may encounter one or more artists working in the pottery studio, glazing room, firing in the outdoor kiln area, sculpting in the loft, wrought iron welding in the forge, or painting and designing work in the graphic studio.

Potters and sculptors include Michael Walsh, Brent Gorman, Randy Warren, Bill Francis, Lorene Senesac, and Lisa Karmazin; Marcia O’Rourke, Cheryl Kempner work in a variety of media encompassing graphic design, glass, jewelry, porcelain and stoneware. Nelson Davis’ wood carving and assemblage sculpture. Joy Light contributes art-to-wear in the form of hand dyed silks. Elin Babcock, when not touring in Paris, can be found in her studio wrapping gems in gold wire and conjuring up imaginative assemblages. Michael Gibson’s rich repertoire of drawings and paintings grace the walls.

Come join the vision, participate in a workshop this season. Saturday workshops have begun and will continue through summer. Call us or visit us in person or on our website for details and registration. www.AshlandArtWorks.com
