Houston’s Custom Framing & Fine Art is proud to have internationally recognized painter and printmaker, Russell Chatham as our featured artist for August and September. The grandson of famous Bay Area tonalist painter Gottardo Piazzoni, Chatham’s work reflects a quiet and serene sense of the landscape. On exhibit will be his newest original lithographs as well as some rare earlier prints.
The Gallery also features the works of internationally exhibited artists, B. Bayard, Stephen McMillan, Mayumi Oda, Yuji Hiratsuka, Thomas M. Houston, and Laurent Schkolnyk.
Owners, Thomas and Stephanie Houston strive to make the gallery and frame shop inviting, comfortable and inspiring. This year marks Thomas’ 20th year as a professional picture framer and the Houston’s 9th year in business in Ashland. Thomas holds a B.F.A. from the San Francisco Art Institute as well as a C.P.F. (Certified Picture Framer) from the Professional Picture Framers Association.
Our mission is to provide our customers with optimum value by offering the finest quality materials, workmanship and design. While our frame shop is usually patronized by locales, it’s a great compliment to have framing customers coast to coast. It’s not uncommon for a client when coming to Ashland to see the plays, to bring artwork with them for us to frame.
