| Art and Soul Gallery presents a retrospective exhibit to honor
the memory and life of Jack Fox who died in his sleep November 4,
2002, Jack has been a member of Art and Soul Gallery since it opened
in 1998. Jack was a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and
Southern Oregon Society of Artists. His realistic and sometimes
whimsical paintings have won recognition and awards in local and
regional competitions.
In 1943, Jack turned down a scholarship with Wait Disney Studios
and opted for a career of hot rods and auto repair. He and his wife
Nancy raised three children in Monterey, CA. He was presently owner
and operator of "Jack Fox Carburetor Service" in Medford.
However, this scholarship was just an indication of the natural
drawing ability that was waiting to be discovered again. In the
fall of 1984, Jack started working with watercolors. His first attempts
were "keepers" and each day he found an increasing desire
to paint more. According to his wife Nancy, owner of the Frame Factory
in Medford, Jack found renewed energy in life when he was involved
in his painting.
