Teresa and I had a problem. We had been open at our new location for
almost a year and still had no real plan on what to do with our very big
and very empty second floor. We had a room with over 1500 sq feet, 12
foot ceilings and no way to get to it. For months we had been kicking
around the idea of a cooperative gallery. It wasn’t until a very
energetic photographer named Jason got involved and gave us the kick we
needed to get it off the ground. In two months I built the stairs and
with help, remodeled the second floor while Teresa and Jason ironed out
the details of just how the gallery would work.
On September 6th 2002, 369 up opened and has been going full speed ever
since. Teresa and I are proud to introduce the six artist in on the ground
floor of the upstairs and invite you to come visit a unique cooperative
gallery.
Empowering Sacred Nudes by Jason—capturing the
inherent spiritual beauty that the creator instilled in all things.
Paperpalooza by Lisa Peterson—creative, whimsical
three dimensional art through paper and form.
Singing Swan Images by Judy Benson—LaNeir-a photographer
who looks for the simple beauty in nature.
McDoog Art by John McDougall—inspiring photography
and images of usual shape with computer generated color.
Michael Thorniley—paints from the image the mind
remembers in flowing lines of land and sea.
Ron Garrelts—from the click of the shutter the
work crosses the spectrum of still life to abstract.
369 Up is located at 369 East Main in Ashland, on the second floor at
The Jewelry Studio.
