Helios Gallery/The Framery is currently featuring the works of acclaimed artist Russell Chatham. Chatham's original lithographs reflect the tonalist influences that have been a part of his work for decades. The grandson of famous Bay Area painter Gottardo Piazzoni, Chatham is self taught. By using up to over 50 plates per print, Chatham is able to achieve a depth, richness and subtlety of color. His imagery evokes the subtle moods of the landscape.

Helios Gallery/The Framery also represents the works of Stephen McMillan, Mayumi Oda, Yugi Hiratuska, B. Bayard, Laurent Scholnyk and Thomas M. Houston.

Stephen McMillan's aquatint etchings, although hand rendered onto a copper plate, show a remarkable photorealist quality, while maintaining an intimate and serene sense of place.

Mayumi Oda's silkscreen prints and etchings reflect both her Buddhist upbringing along with her playful and sensuous spirit. Yugi Hiratsuka's chine colle etchings are bright, whimsical and complex figurative pieces that tease the imagination.

B. Bayard's original lithographs, digital prints and paintings reflect the ongoing use of many personal motifs in various configurations - from simple to complex. Rich and intense, Bayard's work always has depth and encourages the viewer to pause for further contemplation.

Laurent Scholnyk creates soft and sensuous mezzotint prints that transform ordinary objects into opulent gems of color and texture.

Thomas M. Houston's chalk pastels have sense of depth and rich use of color texture rarely seen in that medium. His abstracted landscapes have a stillness and vibrancy that are both meditative, evocative and compelling.
